Bingham University, bridging Education gap for National Development

The Federal Government of Nigeria through the National University Commission (NUC) thought it wise with the issuance of licenses to private spirited individuals and organizations thereby affording stakeholders in the education sector the opportunity to  established private universities, across the country and which has triggered competition within the sector, and by implications adding value to national development.
This initiative has helped in no small measure in boosting education in Nigeria, leaving Nigerians with choices of where to further their studies against the search for advanced knowledge overseas.
Bingham University, in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State is a beneficiary of this initiative as it since leverage on the magnanimity of the Federal Ministry of Education to carved a niche in the annals of history in Nigeria Educational  system.
Conceived and established in the year 2005 by the Evangelical Church Winning All ( ECWA) on the rules of public universities in Nigeria. It’s founding fathers, visionaries within the various executive council,as well as academics of the church extractions, looked back to the golden age of mission education, purposefulness for high quality.
In recognition of the importance of the 19th and 20th centuries, Bingham University is determined to build a high technological – driven institution of the 21st  century.With a staff strength of 981; comprising of 284 teaching staff and 697 non-teaching staff, and over 4000 students population.
From its establishment the University has had Four (4) successive  vice chancellors. The late professor Aaron Gana was the pioneer vice chancellor from 2006 to 2007.Then professor  Felix Anjorin, also late ,who reign from 2007 to 2013 and was succeeded by professor Leonard Kursim till 2017, as the third VC. while the fourth Vice Chancellor,is professor Williams Barnabas Qurix, who  took over from 2018 till date.
Bingham University, Karu in it’s 17 years since establishment has graduated over 5000 students who are excelling in different profession and vocations, after 4 successful convocations,that has added value to national development.
There is no gain saying that from inception the Bingham University has bridged the gap of educational deficiency in the country, especially with it’s specialized teachings in no fewer than 11 faculties; Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Basic medical Sciences,Faculty of Allied Health Sciences,Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences,Faculty of Law, Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Administration,Faculty of Social sciences, Faculty of Education and Faculty of Arts.
For it tenacity fused on it mission and vision statement, the Biingham University as an advanced citedal of learning, has certified and qualified  students of B.Sc,M.Sc,PGD and pH.d .
The University, unlike the public universities in the country runs uninterrupted academics sessions making it an advanced learning center with guaranteed academic calendar.
The management of the University, has a delibrate attitude of keying into the vision of founding fathers,which seek to provide excellent and quality eduction with a view to moulding future leaders therefore takes moral discipline seriously.
Bingham University has become a cynosure of all eyes, as it  is competing favourably with the Federal University, Lafia and the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, with a widespread around the north central states.
