Football stakeholders in Plateau and in Diaspora are lamenting over the non presentation of the soccer diadem to the darling club, Plateau United FC, days after emerging Champions, courtesy of Point Per Game (PPG) mechanism adopted by the league organizers as a result of Covid-19 outbreak.
A source at the club said that, it is a tradition for the team to present the trophy to the sitting governor of the state and other prominent stakeholders of the club, but nothing so far has been done after weeks of announcement.
Corereporters gathered that Plateau Utd stakeholders are not comfortable with the abso;ute silence about the presentation of the trophy when it is obvious that the 25 weeks- old season before the outbreak of Covid-19 has been cancelled, that Plateau Utd has emerged the winners.
Corereporters further gathered that the stakeholders are mobilizing for a possible protest to put their demand to the relevant authority.
It was also gathered that the apprehension stems from the back and forth intrigues that trailed the emergence of Plateau United FC as NPFL King.
However, Corereporters gathered part of the reason why the trophy hasn’t been presented to the winners can be attributed to the indisposition of the chairman of the League Management Company, (LMC), Shehu Dikko.
