CAF Champions league fall out: Sports commissioner in showdown talks with Plateau United’s mgt, technical crew, others

Plateau state commissioner of sports, Honourable Victor Lonpang on Tuesday had a showdown talk with the management of Plateau United, the technical crew, players and the backroom staff of the club.

Aftermath of the shock 0-1 defeat of the underperforming Plateau United Football Club to the visiting Simba Sport Club of Tanzania, the state commissioner of Youth and Sports, Honourable Victor Lonpang reportedly held a showdown talks with the management of the club on Tuesday for a way forward.

Our source revealed that the showdown talks were initiated by the supervising commissioner overlooking the affairs of the club in order to chat away forward for the team ahead of their second encounter.

It was reported that, Hon. Lonpang tasked the team to up their game on Saturday when they confront their opponents at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, in Dar es Salaam, so that they can pick the maximum points in their return leg which he said is possible.

It will be recalled that, the visiting Simba SC of Tanzania on Sunday piped the 2019/2020 Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) winners 0-1 in their first leg encounter of the CAF Champions League preliminary stage.

We gathered exclusively that the commissioner promised the team a well motivated trip to Dar es Salaam.
