The Nasarawa State Police Command on Monday receives a new commissioner of police, CP Maiyaki Muhammed Baba, following the elevation of Adesina  Soyemi,who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).
The deployment of Muhammed Baba to the state was contained in a press statement  made available to Core Reporters on Tuesday by the command public relations officer (PPRO),DSP Ramhan Nansel.
The new CP, Maiyaki Muhammed Baba who assumes duty as Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State, Solicits for support and Cooperation among the officers and the general public.
On that note the Nasarawa State Police command wishes to inform the general public that, the new Commissioner of Police deployed to the State, CP Maiyaki Muhammed Baba has assumed duty and solicited for support and cooperation of all Stakeholders in the State.
The statement reads in part s, “CP Maiyaki Muhammed Baba is an investigative giant, Operational tactician and astute administrator; he was born on October 24, 1963.
” He hails from Bida, Niger State and was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Studies from the premier, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a post graduate Diploma in Strategic Studies from University of Calabar.
  “In the course of his career sojourn, he has served as Divisional Police officer in Lagos, FCT and Ogun State; Officer in charge of monitoring unit, zone 2 and 5, Lagos and Edo State respectively.
” The new Commissioner of Police was one time 2i/c, Zonal State Criminal Investigation Department, Zone 6, Calabar.Highlighting that upon his promotion to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, Maiyaki M.Baba,was posted as Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of State Criminal and Investigation Department, Gusau, Zamfara and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations in Anambra State where he served meritoriously.
Similarly, CP Maiyaki Muhammed Baba was Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations in Borno and Katsina State, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of State Criminal Investigation Department Anambra and Kaduna State, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Administration, Zone 14, Katsina State and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Administration, Kebbi State until his promotion to the rank of Commissioner of Police and posted to Nasarawa State.
“The Commissioner of Police has undergone some courses of career advancement such as Advance Detective course, 1995, Intermediate Command course and internal security/low intensity conflict course both in 2009,” the statement concluded.
Meanwhile , AIG Adesina Soyemi who was newly promoted and posted takes over as AIG zone 4, Markudi, Benue State.
