The Academic Staff Union of Research Institutions of Nigeria (ASURI) has warned Non Academy Staff of the National Center for Technology Management (NACETEM-) to stare clear their actions against the resumption of the new Director General of the center Dr. Sola Odusanya.
ASURI gave the warning on Thursday in Abuja during a protest to register it’s displeasure over the activities of the Non Academy Staff of the center
While addressing journalists during the protest, the ASURI General Secretary Professor Theophilus Ndubuaku said, it is unhealthy for members of Non Academy Staff of NACETEM to lock their offices nation wide against the resumption of Federal Government’s appointed DG of the center. Prof.Ndubuaku noted that Dr. Odusanya’s appointment followed due process and every aspect of the appointment as stipulated in the condition of service of the research institutes and as it has been approved by the head of service which was sent to all the research Institutions.

“Since his appointment the Non Academy Staff have locked up the head office in Osun State as well as their zonal offices and entrance to the DG’s office littered with fetish things to prevent Odusanya from resuming duty. This is simply because he is not an indigene of the state, does it mean that if government agency’s is cited in your state; DGs must come get from such state,” he queried.
Recalled that the University of Ife had carried out a similar action when a non indigene was appointed the Vice Chancellor of the University.
