As Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) week seven encounters were played across the country, Enyimba FC of Aba, Sunshine Stars of Akure, Rivers United, Jigawa Golden stars were among the home teams that recorded victory.
Enyimba piped visiting Katsina United 1nill to move to second place on the log with fifteenth points, while Rivers United defeated Adamawa United 1-0 to reclaim its position at the top of the table with the same fifteen points in seven games with Enyimba but on goal’s differences.
However, Sunshine Stars defeated Enugu Rangers 3-1 in Akure and advanced to forth position in the log with 13 points in seven games while Nasarawa United got a 0-0 draw against Plateau United on Saturday, the result that left them third on the log with fourteen points in seven games.
In other games played at the weekend, Jigawa Golden Stars defeated Heartland FC of Owerri 2-1, Dakkada 2-0 Warri Wolves and MFM 0-0 Kwara United.
Meanwhile, in a suitable response to a three match’s ultimatum, handed down to Coach Imama Amapakabo of Abia Warriors, the Akwa Ibom state born tactician led his wards to another draw against Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi.
Recalled that the management of Abia Warriors has charged the technical crew led by Amapakabo to win their next three games or face sack, but the team have gone unbeaten in the last three games after the ultimatum, though they got three draws without a win.
Though, the club sporting director, Patrick Ngworgu has stated that, the ultimatum was to wake up the technical crew from slumber and not to witch hunt them. He insisted that following the three results that succeeded the ultimatum, the management has achieved its purpose of issuing the ultimatum.
