Air force general, Air Commodore Lazarus has emerged the golf captain of Rayfield golf club-1913.

The election which was keenly contested ended successfully as 10-man management committee to lead the affairs of arguably the oldest club in Nigeria (Rayfield Golf Club-1913), which recently celebrated their over 100 years of existence) were elected.

 Others who got portfolios in the 10-man management committee include; Engr.Gyang Washi (Vice Captain), Arc.Victor Nyam (Secretary), Emmanuel John Treasurer) and Grace Luka (Competition Secretary)/

The rest are Sunday Morris (Handicap Secretary), Shom Disu (Public Relation Officer), Abu Mohammed (Resident Professional) and Joy Ekahtor.

In his post-election speech, the newly elected Captain who’s fondly called Commodore Laz said that Rayfield Golf Club-1913 is touted as the oldest Golf club in Nigeria.

It would be recalled that Rayfield Golf Club-1913 was constructed by the Colonial Masters for their recreation

We learnt that the one star Air Force General has started massive refurbishing of some facilities at both the golf club and course.
