Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom

The People’s Democratic Party stakeholders in the North Central zone have applauded the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom for wadding into the crisis that has been rocking the party in the three states of Plateau, Nasarawa, and Niger overtimes.
The crisis occasioned by the leadership, tussle had led to the suspension of members thereby stalling some of the party’s activities, such as congresses in these states.
Most of the stakeholders who spoke to journalists after the meeting described Gov. Ortom as an astute politician whose apt intervention has brought unity among them.
In his reaction, Chairman, Board of Trustees of the PDP, Senator Waheed Jubril commended the Benue State Governor for taking a bold step towards resolving the beef, promising to stand by the party in the six states of the zone in order to ensure that peace reigns.
A chieftain of the party in Nasarawa State, Senator Solomon Ewuga and the former Minister of Water Resources, Mrs. Sarah Ochekpe have in their separate remarks, praised Ortom for demonstrating a high capacity in his leadership style, describing him as a veteran politician who understands what it takes to unite the people and that the resolutions reached out at the meeting was enough to lead the party to victory in the 2023 general elections.
It would be recalled that the PDP Benue chapter had at the election congress held at the Aper Aku Stadium Makurdi recently passed a vote of confidence on the governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom for his developmental strides and leadership competence and urging him to return the North-central zone to PDP
