A total number of one thousand and fifty eight (1058) corps members of Batch “C” Stream 1, were registered and oriented successfully for the commencement of national service.
The swearing in ceremony took place on Tuesday at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Keffi, Local Government Area of Nasarawa state
Addressing the corps member, the state Governor,Engineer Abdullahi Sule represented by the state NYSC coordinator, Alhaji Abdullahi A.Jikamshi, congratulated the newly inducted corps members on the successful completion of their academic pursuits.
The Governor, said the scheme is designed by the founding fathers to groom youths to take up leadership roles and position in order to build a strong ,peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
He, however, advised them against engaging themselves into journey of fantasy that can de-robe them of necessary hon our reserved for only those who are positively committed to the high ideals of national building.
” The three weeks orientation course has been carefully planned with activities to equip you with all that is needed for the journey beyond the camp.
” I must emphasized that the orientation camp is highly regimented ,this means that every activity on camp is compulsory for all corps members” He said.
