Kano Pillars Fc has condoled with its player David Ebuka and his family over the death of his senior brother Kelvin Odinegbo who died on Sunday.
In a statement by the Media officer of the club, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa, the management and players as well as fans have expressed shock over the sad news of Ebuka brother’s death.
According to the statement, “On behalf of the club Chairman Alhaji Surajo Yahaya jambul, management, players and technical crew we sympathy with David Ebuka and his entire family for this great loss.
“We also pray that may Allah gives you and your entire family the fortitude to bear the irreparable lost.
However, the sad news of late Kelvin, Odinegbo broke into the camp of Sai masu gida thirty minutes to the kick-off match week 25 between Kano Pillars Fc and Enyimba Int’l Fc on Sunday in the ongoing 2020/21 NPFL at Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
The club has given Ebuka one week break to mourn his brother before joining the team back.
Meanwhile, Belarusian Premier League club announced the death of Odenigbo in a statement on Sunday.
Kelvin Odenigbo, who was a player of FC Vitebsk in Belarus, was said to have been found dead after drowning in a lake.
Announcing his passing, the Belarusian Premier League club in a statement released, said, “ the corpse of the 20-year-old striker was found on Saturday, June 5 by the lake Beloye, a tourist destination in the Vitebsk region.”
“We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the football player. The football club Vitebsk reports that on June 5, 2021, on the lake Beloye, in the area of the tourist base Verasy, OSVOD employees found the drowned Kelvin Odenigbo.
We will publish all official information as it becomes available. We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the football player, as well as to all the fans of the team,” the statement read.
