The Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) has urged the Nigerian Senate and House of Reps members to stop forthwith from approving loans’ request from the Federal Government, until after proper accountability from the one it has collected before now.

Executive Director of of CISLAC, Mr. Auwal Ibrahim Musa made the call on Tuesday in Anuja while briefing newsmen at the National Assembly.

Musa alleged that the FG is yet to account for, $23.224 billion, N7.744 trillion and $3.4 billion IMF loan to Nigeria.

He said that since all the MDAs are under the purview of the executive arm, “it is therefore our hope that the National Assembly denies approval of another loan until these illicit flows are accounted for and recovered. This will go a long way in reducing the burden of debts on citizens which by extension exacerbates poverty and inequality.”
