Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress ( APC),has vowed that he would develop the mining sector across the country, if elected Nigeria president come 2023.
Tinubu said this during a town hall meeting on mining and security in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital on Thursday.
He said he would prioritize the resuscitation of the nation’s economy through the development of the solid mineral sector, adding that the nation is richly blessed and can cater for itself.
According to him,“Solid minerals and mining will play key roles in our campaign toward prosperity and our economic offensive against poverty and underdevelopment.
“We, the APC, shall continue to stand before the Nigerian people to discuss the real issues of the day and offer insight into the policy solutions we intend to deploy to solve them.
” I will eliminate poverty and I will break the shackles of poverty, we know how to do it. I’m a promise keeper.
“We have what its takes to develop the mining sector across the country and I will develop the mining sector across the country if elected the president of this country,” he said.
He appreciated Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule for giving him the opportunity to share his vision.
Others, who beared their minds like Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, the APC National Chairman and Gov. Simon Lalong, the Director General, Tinubu/ Shettima Campaign Organization called on the people of the state and Nigerians to vote Tinubu and other candidates of the party in 2023.
In his words, the APC National Chairman, Senator,Adamu, charged Tinubu to get ready to lead Nigeria to the Promise Land. He re-echoed the position of President Muhammadu Buhari that all indicators and indications point to the fact that the APC Presidential candidate is the next President of Nigeria.
Also speaking, Senator. Tanko Al-Makura, the chairman Senate Committee on Solid mineral called for unbundling of the mining sector in order to give every Nigerian the right to participate in the sector.
He also called on Nigerians to develop more interest in the ministry considering its importance to human and societal development
