The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Audited General of the federation have both commended the Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede for providing undoubted evidence to audit queries raised by the Auditor General of the Federation.

The commendation came as a result of the on-going consideration of audit queries issued to Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs since 2015 on Thursday in Abuja.

Chairman of the SPAC, Senator Matthew Urhoghide was satisfied with the explanation provided by Prof. Oloyede who was calm when addressing the committee was left with no option than to commend him and urged him to do more so that his successor will have it smoothly to explain the activity under him when called upon.

JAMB had be queried by the AG to explain how comes about the six persons who were removed from payroll in 2013 and were paid the sum of N110.481 million, but the  Registrar explained that the said persons were bonafide staff of JAMB who voluntarily withdrew their service and we’re paid their entitlement.

However, the AG while commending the Registrar’s forthrightness said if the documents had earlier been attached to the response of JAMB, they wouldn’t have bothered sending JAMB query to the senate, adding that the explanations given by the Prof. Oloyede were in other. Though, the AG asked the Registrar to make other documents available to them as soon as possible.

Other members of the committee also took their time to commend the JAMB Registrar with remarks that if all chief executive officers of other MDAs were like him, their job would have been simple.

Meanwhile, Prof. Oloyede attributed the success of their outing to his predecessors, adding that because they did their best that was why it was easy for him to explain without finding it difficult.
