Nigeria former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan
Nigeria former President, Goodluck Jonathan has condoled with the President and the people of Tanzania over the death of their former President, Benjamin Mkapa, who died at age 81.
Mr. Mkapa, who served as the president of Tanzania between 1995 to 2005 died on Friday at a hospital in the Port City of Dar es Salaam after a brief illness.
Jonathan in his twitter handle writes, ” I offer my deepest condolences to His Excellency, President @Magufuli JP, the Mkapa family and people of Tanzania over the passing on of former President Benjamin Mkapa, the nation’s third President, who died at the age of 81.
“He was an African hero and champion of regional integration who dedicated his life fighting for peace, security and economic progress on the continent. He will be sorely missed by all lovers of peace, unity and progress in Africa.” He said.
