Wonders they say shall never end, is the case of Ebonyi State Football Association where Cynosure FC the winners of the state FA cup competition have been robbed.
Cynosure FC is conspicuously missing in the 2021 FA Cup draws released a few hours ago, a situation that prompted Fans and management of the club to ask about the offence they have committed that made the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) replacing them with an unknown club, Ngwa Utd.
However, this has arose concern from various quarters as to why Ngwa Utd instead of Cynosure FC.
Core Reporters gathered that Cynosure made the mandatory N85,000 affiliation fee payment to the state FA through the secretary.
The state FA secretary, Hillary Obiese Ogbonna in a telephone conversation expressed surprise that Cynosure was replaced with an unknown club, Ngwa Utd.
According to Ogbonna, “Cynosure FC are the champions of Ebonyi State. I forwarded their name to the General Secretary of NFF’s email, both the referee report and the result of the match and my own letter confirming that Cynosure FC are the champions.
“But when the draws were made, I heard that instead of Cynosure an unknown club registered to represent Ebonyi state.
Core Reporters investigation shows that the Ebonyi State FA chairman, Senator Joseph Obinna Ogba was allegedly responsible for the abracadabra that is currently going on in the released draws of the clubs to participate in the FA cup competition.
However, as at the time of filing this report, we made several attempts to speak with the NFF GS, Dr Mohammed Sanusi and Senator Obinna Ogba, Ebonyi State FA Chairman for comments but our efforts proved abortive.
