Despites a-three-match-ultimatum to its technical crew, Abia Warriors fc of Umuahia has continued to trail other clubs from the bottom of the nine- week- old 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
On January 15, 2021 the management of the team had issued a three-match ultimatum to the technical crew led by Imama Amapakabo to turn the fortunes of the club around or be ready to face sanction
The ultimatum was as a result of the team’s poor beginning of the ongoing season where they lost their first four matches both home and away, a situation the management held an emergency meeting in mid January and issued the ultimatum..
Meanwhile, the club’s Sporting Director, Patrick Ngwaogu, reiterated that the team has no reason not to do well considering the quality of players pointing out that the technical crew, led by Amapakabo has enjoyed the support and cooperation ever accorded any crew in the Club’s history.
However, in response to the ultimatum, Amapakabo’s led team had recorded six points in their last five matches after the ultimatum, winning one, drawing 3 and losing one.
The above result coupled with the 2-1 loss to Dakkada FC of Uyo on Sunday has left them in nineteenth position on the log, with six points in nine games.
