The late Chief Ben Otu died in the early hours of Sunday, November 23, 2020 in Abuja after he fell ill that morning and was accompanied to the hospital by his wife for medical attention, but died afterward.

In a statement signed by the Editor in Chief of Corereporters.com.ng, Mr. Raphael Ekpang, the death of Mr. Ben Otu is a great loss to the people of Irruan, the Boki nation, Cross River state as a whole and Nigeria in general.

According to the statement, the late Mr. Otu was a de-tribalised person who used his position and wealth to better the lives of many who came in contact with him while alive.

“The news of his death came to me as a shock because Mr. Ben is one that no one will pray he should die so young because of the way he lived his life on earth. He was down to earth, a man I know died as a near perfect being.

“He lived his life serving others; From the North, West, East and South of this country he touched so many lives. He was a boss indeed,” Ekpang said.    However, He prayed for divine comfort for the entire family as well as peaceful repose of the soul of the departed.

“It is from God Almighty that we came and unto him we shall all return. It is the positive difference we are able to make for the betterment of the people around us during our earthly sojourn that matters.

“We all know the pains that such exit causes in every family and I pray that God Almighty grants his immediate family and Boki nation, the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Mr. Ekpang prayed.
