Swimming on the euphoria of their 2-0 victory over Plateau United, the chairman of Nasarawa United Isaac Danladi has boasted that they are getting closer to emerging the winners of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League  (NPFL).

Danladi in a telephone conversation with our reporter on Sunday said, at least the coast is getting clearer, though insisted that it is not over until it is over.

“At least we are gradually getting it, we have to fight harder, the coast is getting clearer even though it is not over until it is over.

“But from what we are seeing now if we add more effort we may end up winning the title,” he opined.

On the players’ motivation, he said, the boys are good to go because they are hundred per cent motivated to go out there and beat any of their opponents, adding that the state governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, the number one sports lover in the state is ready to reward them accordingly.

Nasarawa United are currently third on the table with 48 points in 27 games while Kano Pillars are second with 49 points in 26 games and, Akwa United are first on the log with 50 points in 26 games.

The 27-week encounter between the Pillars and Akwa united was suspended after it was obvious that the tension between the two teams was high.

The suspended match was played at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Sunday.
